Jeremiah 33:22-24

²² But I will give many ·descendants [^Lseed] to my servant David and to the family group of Levi who serve me. They will be as many as the stars in the sky that no one can count. They will be as many as the grains of sand on the seashore that no one can measure [Gen. 15:5; 22:17; 26:4].”

²³ The Lord spoke his word to Jeremiah, saying: ²⁴ “Have you [^CJeremiah] heard what the people are saying? They say: ‘The Lord ·turned away from [rejected] the two ·families [kingdoms; ^Cof Israel and Judah] that he chose.’ Now they [^Lhold my people in such contempt that they] don’t think of them as a nation anymore!”
